Various PDC Related Diagrams Up on MSDN

Brad Abrams already mentioned these, but we are going to be linking to them from MSDN soon so I thought I would give out the microsoft.com URLs for these 2 images (one in jpg and PDF format); http://download.microsoft.com/download/a/2/f/a2fc47d2-8bdf-4977-8364-1f38b893dba5/LHArch_PDC2003.png http://download.microsoft.com/download/a/2/f/a2fc47d2-8bdf-4977-8364-1f38b893dba5/pdc_namespaceposter.jpg http://download.microsoft.com/download/a/2/f/a2fc47d2-8bdf-4977-8364-1f38b893dba5/pdc_namespaceposter.pdf

.NET Rocks

Nov 4, 2003 1 min.

I had some drinks with Carl Franklin and Mark Dunn at the PDC and discovered that we are all audio freaks… and while our conversation was focused mostly on mixing boards and real-time noise filtering… we did talk a bit about their .NET “radio” show which is now available on MSDN! Here is the official blurb and link; MSDN now hosts .NET Rocks!, and Internet audio talk show for .NET developers.

Digging out…

Nov 4, 2003 1 min.

It seems like I just got back from the PDC… I opened my laptop for the first time today, which isn’t to say I wasn’t working… I have email and access to update the various sites I’m working on from other machines… but I certainly wasn’t coding. Anyway, the # of unread posts in SharpReader is just ridiculous, probably going to be the incentive to clean out my subscription list…

Blogs on the PDC Central Site

Oct 29, 2003 1 min.

If you haven’t seen them, check out the blog feeds visible on the PDC Central site. We’ve seen a problem where they sometimes show up blank… but it appears to be working fine now!

Reading Blogs…

I’ve been catching up on a few blogs, now that I’ve finally managed to get connected 🙂 … and I just have one comment (meant in the spirit of helpfulness only) … It is “ClickOnce” not “OneClick” Anyway, check out my article on ClickOnce if you are interested, but watch the name or people might think you are talking about ordering books online…

“New” PDC site is up

We updated the PDC site for the week of the event, check it out at http://msdn.microsoft.com/events/pdc/… Sitting in my first ‘real’ session of the day… Avalon CLI200…

Keynote Fun

Oct 27, 2003 1 min.

Well, those demos have certainly floored me… but I must say I’m torn. As a Microsoft guy, I’m pretty pumped about all of the new stuff… but as a developer, I have to admit a feeling of sadness seeing all of this cool code (mostly the Avalon and WinFS stuff for me) that I won’t be able to write into a production app for quite some time. Duncan’s big takeaway? I need to bump up the CPU, GPU and memory on my music machine so that, at least at home, I can run Longhorn on it and write all of the UI using Avalon!

Happy to be in LA

Oct 27, 2003 1 min.

Arrived last night, which is sooner than some will be showing up, after flying to Palm Springs and driving up… which worked out quite well. A few moments after arriving, and getting hooked up to the Internet… I put up this letter onto the PDC site, just giving a few helpful bits of info for those of you who arrived late or still haven’t arrived. Now, I’m late for the keynote, but I’m here and I’m ready to go!
